Has there ever been a less competent House Speaker? Johnson's only qualification is his complete subservience to Donald J. Trump. If the man has ever had a thought of his own, he's kept it to himself. The GOP members in the House may reconsider keeping him in leadership depending on the results of the election. If it is as bad as predicted and if I were an incumbent who managed to squeak through to reelection, I'd be looking to the future and how the trajectory might be changed. Mike Johnson is not the answer.

I don't know about "competent", but he couldn't possibly be more malevolent than Tom DeLay.

Malevolence runs in the GOP bloodstream. I take that as a given, like French girls are going to have hairy armpits.

If you're voting "keep him," what's the line where a messy speaker vote or another shutdown fight changes your answer?
