Should former presidents like Barack Obama actively campaign in the midterm elections?

From a standpoint of abstract ethics without regard for current personalities, I don't see the harm.

I used to think former presidents should step back and leave the stage to their successors. The past 10 years has changed my mind. Democrats are struggling for a cohesive voice, and if Obama can articulate what millions are feeling and champion needed change, I'm all for it.

He won't; he's long-since made it clear who he works for, and that yoke is precisely what prevents him and all the other tories from doing precisely what you're hoping for.
