Was the city of Cambridge right to divest its funds from businesses tied to Israel's military?
On October 28, 2026, the Cambridge, Massachusetts city council voted 5-4 to divest city funds from businesses it says profit from Israel's military operations in the Palestinian territories.
The city gets to invest where it chooses to invest. It doesn't matter whether their action changes anything on the ground or is purely symbolic.
If you voted yes: does divestment actually have to change anything on the ground to be worth doing, or is the point just not touching the money?
