Is it acceptable for President Trump to tie federal disaster aid to Republican election wins?

At recent rallies ahead of the November 3 midterms, President Trump suggested that federal disaster relief and other government help could depend on Republican victories, which Democrats called a threat to voters.

For a guy obsessed with election fraud, he's remarkably comfortable abusing his power to influence election outcomes. Let's hope it backfires on Nov 3.

I seem to recall Biden’s FEMA being instructed not to assist people in N Carolina that had Trump banners outside their houses after they had massive flooding a few years ago

Agree that both are bad. At least under the FEMA case, the individual responsible was fired: https://abc7.com/post/fema-employee-removed-role-after-telling-team-skip-houses-trump-signs-post-hurricane-milton-florida/15530823/ I don't see this as a partisan issue, but rather a Trump issue.

If you're voting "yes, that's just politics" - where's the line, does it still count as politics if the aid gets cut off after voters say no?
