Is the Justice Department right to pursue a new criminal case against former FBI Director James Comey?
The Justice Department is pursuing a new effort to prosecute former FBI Director James Comey as President Trump campaigns ahead of the November 2026 midterms.
In this case, I wish there was a "Both" option.
You think it's justified? Why?
Long story, and I'm sorry to say it's not one I recall chapter-and-verse; this is not a conflict with any good guys, though. The rule of law was betrayed and forsaken long ago. Fixing it would require going back DECADES, which is why all the moralistic brouhaha targeted at the Trump Administration is inherently deceptive (and designed to fail, as Trump's alibi is easy: "Hey, it was like this when I got here!"). To paraphrase Milan Kundera, the struggle between right and wrong is the struggle between memory and forgetting.
It appears to be simple harassment.Throw one charge, then another, now a third trying to find something that might stick. It costs Trump nothing but Comey has to pay to defend himself each time. What's next, a charge that Comey picked his toenails in Hoboken? Enough already.
Enough already. I think the impact of this type of pressure will be waning soon. I can't image support for this type of vengeance justice goes far beyond Trump.
If you're voting "politically motivated," where's the line between that and just prosecuting someone the president publicly despises?
